Wipfli LLP and Wipfli Hewins Leaders Selected for In Business Magazine’s 2018 40 Under 40 Class

MADISON, WISC., USA, March 1, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Wipfli LLP’s (Wipfli) Brian Gaumont and Wipfli Hewins Investment Advisors, LLC’s (Wipfli Hewins) Erika Young, CRPS®, CPFA, AIF® have been selected for In Business magazine's 2018 40 Under 40 Class, joining 38 driven young professionals in the Greater Madison area who are making a tangible difference in their companies and communities. In its eighteenth year, the 2018 roster features honorees who were chosen from more than 160 applicants within the region.

A senior manager working in Wipfli’s business development and consulting departments, Gaumont has positioned himself as a leader during his five-year tenure with the company. His role extends across many of Wipfli’s industries and service lines, including a prominent focus as one of the leaders in the nonprofit group’s strategic planning function. “I am proud of my professional growth,” Gaumont says. “I have worked hard to develop my technical skill set and am now leading projects across the country.”

Equally driven in her personal and professional growth, Young joined Wipfli Hewins — which is an affiliate of Wipfli — as director of Employer Plan Services in 2014. Since then, Young has built the firm’s retirement plan practice from the ground up, doubling the business’s client count in just three years. She was named a principal by Wipfli Hewins’ ownership team in June 2017. Although growing the practice’s assets under management by 60 percent has been exciting, Young notes that the work she does on a daily basis is much more personal: “The reason I got into the retirement plan business was because I have seen, first-hand, what poor financial standing and lack of savings can mean for a family and for everyday working Americans.” In fact, a recent analysis by Pew Charitable Trusts suggests that workers who lack access to and have never participated in a workplace retirement plan are least likely to have any savings. It’s why Young continues to strategize with the firm to widen its footprint and enhance retirement security for current and future clients.

Outside of the office, both Gaumont and Young have made an impact on their local communities. Gaumont currently serves as the board chair for End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin — a statewide organization promoting social change to prevent and eliminate domestic violence, abuse and oppression — and also sits on the organization’s Governance and Fund Development Committees. “Helping build processes and increase revenue for the organization has been very fulfilling,” Gaumont says. Serving internally as Wipfli's 2018 United Way Campaign Committee Chair, Gaumont is excited to lead the firm’s fundraising efforts for the charity, while also supporting Community Shares and its program members.

Young continues to make a difference as a Wish Granter for her local Make-a-Wish Foundation Chapter. “It’s incredible to see the resolve, determination and positivity that radiates from these children and their families, especially in the face of extreme adversity and distress,” she says. “Providing these children with experiences they’ve only dreamed about is incredibly fulfilling and humbling.”

Both Gaumont and Young will be recognized in the March 2018 issue of In Business magazine and honored at a networking reception on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.
