Donald Trump’s former doctor has claimed that a letter saying he would be the healthiest president ever was dictated to him.
Harold Bornstein said the document, which was released during Mr Trump’s presidential campaign in 2015, had been largely composed by the candidate himself.
The letter, signed by Dr Bornstein, declared Mr Trump’s medical examination showed “astonishingly excellent” laboratory results.
"If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency,” it said.
Dr Bornstein, who has treated Mr Trump since the 1980s, since told CNN: "He dictated that whole letter. I didn't write that letter.”
He said Mr Trump had read out the letter to Dr Bornstein and his wife as they were driving across Central Park.
"(Trump) dictated the letter and I would tell him what he couldn't put in there," he added.
Dr Bornstein had previously said he had written the letter in a rush while seeing other patients.
It follows his accusation that Trump's ex-bodyguard Keith Schiller raided his office while retrieving Mr Trump's medical records after he was elected president.
White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders told reporters on Tuesday that the records were retrieved as part of "standard operating procedure."
"As is standard operating procedure for a new president, the White House Medical Unit took possession of the president's medical records," she told a regular news briefing.

Asked if the operation was a raid, she said: "No, that is not my understanding."

Dr Bornstein said the president's longtime bodyguard showed up at his office in February 2017 along with two other men to collect the records, leaving him feeling "raped, frightened and sad."
The incident came two days after the doctor told The New York Times that Mr Trump takes Propecia, a drug for enlarged prostates that is often prescribed to stimulate hair growth in men.
