Iowa County gunfire leaves one dead, one wounded

IOWA COUNTY, Iowa - One person is dead and another seriously wounded after gunfire in rural Williamsburg.

The Iowa County Sheriff's Office says it received a report around 9 pm Friday of a shooting at the Interstate 80 westbound on ramp of exit 225.  The sheriff's office says one person was killed and a second suffered serious gunshot injuries.

No more information is expected to be released on this incident until Monday.

The Williamsburg Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, State Medical Examiner, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are assisting with the investigation.
