Irish actor is ‘truly terrifying’ in new Apple TV film opposite Sydney Sweeney

Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson stars in the disturbing new Apple TV movie, where he plays a mysterious figure who knows a deadly secret threatening to destroy the lives of a mother and daughter

The trailer for a “terrifying” new Apple TV film has dropped and there is an Irish actor on the cast that fans are getting to see in a new light.


Recently, Apple Original Films has announced that its highly-anticipated psychological thriller film, Echo Valley, will be released on June 13. With just a few weeks to go, fans are already saying that the trailer looks “truly terrifying.” The movie stars Hollywood A-listers Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney, alongside Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson.

Gleeson, whose famous dad starred in the Banshees of Inisherin, plays Jackie Lyman. Little information is given about how he fits into the story, but from the trailer, it appears that he adds another level of eeriness to the already spooky plot.

On a rural farm in Pennsylvania, Claire, played by Sweeney, shows up on her mother Kate’s doorstep, played by Moore. Distraught, and covered in someone else's blood, she asks her mother for help, and Moore embarks on a mission to clean up her daughter’s mess.

In the trailer, Gleeson’s character shows up on the doorstep of Moore and Sweeney - a mother and daughter duo that are part of a gruesome murder cover-up. Gleeson’s character can be seen, saying, “I know what you did, I make one call and all roads lead back to you.”


Gleeson, who fans are calling terrifying, is not the only Irish actor in the film. Fiona Shaw, who is known for her roles in Killing Eve and Bad Sisters, also stars in the film, as

Echo Valley is not the first time Gleeson and Shaw have worked together. They both played a role in the Harry Potter films - Gleeson as Bill Weasley, the eldest of the beloved-ginger-haired family, and Shaw as Petunia Dursely, Harry’s aunt.

Domhnall's father, Brendan Gleeson, also starred in the films, playing Professor Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody in the magical franchise, which is getting a spin-off series on HBO.


Echo Valley has already generated a lot of excitement, from fans of the genre and fans of each individual cast member.

Isntthatenough wrote: “I was just thinking about the Black Mirror episode Be Right Back yesterday which stars Domhnall Gleeson, when I saw the trailer for this and thought "is that him?" as the long haired blonde. Stacked cast. I'm a big fan of Julianne Moore and Kyle MacLachlan as well.”

Flammen_ agreed, writing: “Love Domhall Gleason!” while No_Art_754 added: “I miss him, gotta look up what he's been up to lately.”
